Protecting Your Loved Ones
In Oregon, Conservators make the financial decisions for those who are unable to make decisions for themselves.
In Oregon, Guardians make the medical and other decisions for those who are unable to make decisions for themselves.
In order to be appointed a guardian or conservator, you must petition the court. The court will make a determination of capacity of the protected person and appoint either a conservator or a guardian. Once appointed, the conservator or guardian has a ongoing duty to the protected person and will make periodic reports to the court.
